A Letter from Pastor A to newLife

Never in a million years did I ever think I would see what I saw Sunday.
It was Amazing!
I know others saw it, but I don't think they understood the significance of it.
But I saw it, and it made this Sunday the best Sunday I have ever had in church.

You may have missed it if you left right after church.
You may have missed it if you were consumed with a conversation.
You may have missed it if you were a guy.
But I saw it and am glad I didn't miss it.

What was it?
Nothing really to the casual observer of Christianity but everything to me.
So much that I have a renewed hope that Christians can actually be Christ like.
It was awesome.

What was not?
Nothing but Hayley Clark trying on a prom dress......at church.
I know, wasn't it awesome.

You still don't see it do you?
Well let me explain it the way I saw it.

One of our young women felt so loved by her church family, and was so confident that she would not be judged by anyone negatively, had the desire to share one of the most important times in her life with her church family.

Her dress was stunning as well as modest. (for you who might be prejudging) and she was beaming. There were Ladies were running up to the corner room where she had changed and when she came out she was surrounded by encouraging Godly women who showed their love and support of WHO Hayley was.

Of course she is a newLife girl so she was gorgeous, but for me, I saw a Christian feel loved and Christians love her and it was good.

A Beautiful Girl capping off a Beautiful Day with a Beautiful Church for a Beautiful God.

Now I have to find something else to doubt so that God can prove His presence and power in our church and lives.

What do you think is never going to happen in a million years?
Post it and we will pray about it and see God do amazing things together.

Three days to Sunday

The last few services have been incredible, but I am concerned that we are quickly coasting.
No Baptisms scheduled for Sunday
No one scheduled to Join for Sunday
I have heard of no one getting saved this week

Church, are we done for the year?
Is this it?
Its been great I know, but are we satisfied? or worse, Is He Satisfied?

Have we stopped praying?
Have we stopped sharing?
Have we stopped teaching?

Have we have we've stopped being the church God has called us to be.

We have three days to Sunday, God created the earth in Seven and we are not asking for Him to create the earth, only to place someone in our life to share the gospel with, and open their heart to Him.

What are you going to do with your three days?

Nothing ever seems to work the way you Thought

When I first started attending church, I had in my mind how it was supposed to be.
This came from years of attending church as a child.
But with this came all of my baggage.
Rarely do we bring the best things of Christianity to the church, but the not so best.

For me it was the fear of people.
In the church I was raised in people didn't treat each other well.
In fact, they were pretty rough on each other and so I always attended with one eye open. And while that changed over time, I still didn't bring my best.

I should have been that voice for Change in that area, not stopping THEM from doing wrong, but by my doing right.
How much better would it have been for the church and I, if I would have dropped the baggage and loved people sooner?

While the church may never work the way you thought, it works.
But it works best, when you bring your best.

Philippians 3:13-14 (KJV) 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Rather than focus on what we leave behind, I wonder, what best can you bring that makes the church better?
